Mountain Man Tours, Inc was established in 1985 as the first Colorado rafting outfitter and guide service on the upper Rio Grande River.
The stretch of the Rio Grande where we operate is a pristine high country river with class II-III rapids and breathtaking scenery. June is the best time for whitewater action, but no matter what time of the season, the river has its own character and each rafting trip is as rewarding as the first.
We offer both Oar-Guided and Paddle-Guided rafting trips. If you choose oars, our guide will maneuver the raft down the river allowing you to relax and take in the scenery. If you choose paddles, you will assist the guide by listening to his/her commands and paddling the raft.
We are now offering guided kayak trips, and trips on the Lake Fork River near Lake City, Colorado and the Green River (Labyrinth Canyon stretch) in Utah.
Whatever you choose, we know how to make your rafting adventure fun!
Mountain Man Tours holds permits for the length of the Rio Grande River and Lake Fork Rivers in Colorado, and the Green River in Utah. We tailor each rafting vacation to meet your needs, but generally plan trips to the section of river that we believe you will enjoy the most. River levels often dictate which section we run. At high water, we recommend that rafters wear rain gear and neoprene water boots.
