FAQ's

Where do we arrive/Check in?

You start and end each trip at our headquarters at 702 S. Main St. in Creede, CO. Get Directions Here!  We provide a shuttle service to and from all of our activities.  Parking for your vehicles is located across the street from us behind Rincon Real Estate in the parking lot facing Bear Paw Storage. Please arrive promptly thirty minutes prior to your departure time to allow us to prepare you for your trip.  Our guides will greet you with a smile as you arrive!  They will assist you in checking in first with our friendly office personnel.

What should we wear?

We suggest you wear shorts and a t-shirt, or a bathing suit, but bring a warmer top layer just in case.  Definitely plan on getting wet, and any clothing that will dry quickly is a great idea .  The weather can change very quickly here, and the water is very cold!  We do provide rain gear and neoprene booties free of charge if you need it, and we suggest you use it.

What should we bring?

As outfitters it is our goal and privilege to provide you with most things that you will need during your experience with us. A hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses are a must, and you might like to bring a camera as well.  All of those items are also available in our gift shop in case you forget.  If you are not on a tour that includes a meal, we suggest a snack and something to drink.  We provide water on our trips free of charge, but you are welcome to bring your own food and beverages for your trip.  NOTHING IN GLASS BOTTLES PLEASE!!  Due to state law, insurance regulations, and for your safety we do not allow the consumption of drugs or alcoholic beverages before or during our trips.  Please understand that we cannot allow anyone who is, or appears to be, under the influence of alcohol or drugs on our river trips.  NO EXCEPTIONS!

Is my child old enough to raft?

Our specialty is family rafting, and we take many families with children of all ages every day.  We generally say that 3 years old is the youngest that we will take, but there are many factors in making that decision.  First, each person that rafts with us is  (and must be ) always properly fitted with a Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device before heading to the river.  We have many different sizes of PFD’s to accommodate most people’s needs, however your child must fit in one of the PFD's that WE have or they cannot go.  We cannot let anyone ride in their own PFD.  Second, depending on which trip you are considering, the ride for someone under three years old can be a little long.  Our 1 ½ hour trip is our shortest trip, and once you’re dropped at your tour site you will be out there until the trip is done.  Sometimes, thirst, hunger, and exposure to the elements can be a little much for very small children.  You know your children better than we do, so please be realistic.  We are always happy to help with the decision at the office, as we size up each group before the trip.  Our guides are the best anywhere with kids and people of all ages.  YOUR SAFETY IS OUR MAIN CONCERN, and we promise we will let you know of any possible concerns that may arise. Trust the people that do this everyday!
